Hi. My name is Emily, I’m 35 years old, originally from Minnesota, but living in North Carolina for now. I’m a proud nerd with a biology degree, and I’m currently working as a quality manager for a manufacturing company. I’ve been on my fitness journey since 2009. Back then, I relied mostly on my mid twenties metabolism and competitive ballroom dancing to keep me in shape. I did work out in the gym some but did more cardio than weights, and I didn’t really have a great idea of what I was doing. Since 2013, I moved around a lot and unfortunately got away from dancing. So I started completely relying on my gym workouts. I stuck with the same pattern of doing more cardio than weights buying into the misconception that cardio is the way to stay lean.
Being completely honest, I was a little intimidated by all the 20-something guys on the free weights. Whenever I felt the need to lose weight, I just tracked calories on my Fitbit, which technically worked according to the scale, but I was so frustrated that I just couldn’t attain the look that I wanted. Spending as much time in the gym as I did, I wanted it to be able to tell. Fast forward to June, 2019, I stumbled across an ad for the warrior babe revolution plan on Facebook. I immediately loved Nikkiey’s no-nonsense approach and sign up for the program. I was new to tracking macros but I did find it easier than I expected. And I really enjoyed learning the why behind the macro approach. I wanted to keep learning more. So I made the jump to the blueprint program in October of 2019, and it was the best decision. So much of the information in the modules blew my mind. I couldn’t believe how many misconceptions and gaps I had in my understanding about working out and nutrition but it all made so much sense given the lack of real results I’d seen.
Following the program just as Nikkiey laid it out, I started in a cut phase where I lost 15 pounds and 7% body fat, I was so amazed. I have since moved into a build phase and I’ve seen my body finally changing shape like I always wanted. I’m so excited to see how far I can push myself with this lifestyle over the coming years. I do take advantage of the live Q&A calls, both to get guidance from Nikkiey for my macro and workout adjustments and to listen to the advice the other babes are seeking. Nikkiey is exactly like she seems, passionate, dedicated, and no nonsense. She has this magic ability to tell you exactly what you need to hear to move forward, whether it’s an “I’m proud of you” or some much needed tough love.
On top of Nikkiey herself being completely awesome, I cannot say enough good things about the other women in the community. The way everyone steps out of their comfort zone to share their own journey and challenges is completely inspiring. The constant flow of collaboration and support is incredible and it’s so fun to cheer on each other and see the progress everyone is making towards their goals. This program has been a life changer for me. I have gained such confidence in the gym and in my daily life. I was even brave enough to buy my very first pair of white leggings. I’ve become the architect of my own body, and I love it.
