Hi guys, my name is Kayla Smith and I’m currently a member of the WarriorBabe community. I am a mother of a four year old boy and I currently work as a substance abuse counselor in Southern California. I will be 29 at the end of December. So 28 years old right now. And WarriorBabe has just made such a monumental impact on my life. It really has given me absolutely all of the tools I really needed to finally find a passionate living for fitness and to finally find my way through this journey and how to navigate it properly. Before I started WarriorBabe, it was the typical yo-yo diets, crash diets, fad diets, get fit in 30 days, or simply just starving myself. I always thought that if I didn’t eat food, you’d lose the wait. You know, don’t intake calories, you’re gonna lose the weight. And that just wasn’t ever the case and it just made me so frustrated.
Every time that happened, I would jump on the scale after not eating for a week and I would notice that I lost five or six pounds and be extremely excited. But I felt miserable about myself on the inside. I was never able to stay happy. I never felt content and I always felt like I was not able to achieve any of the goals that I really wanted to set out to achieve. So when the frustration of all of it kind of set in, mentally it’s just draining. Every time I would jump on the scale and I wouldn’t see any changes, or every time it would jump back up, I just felt defeated. You know, I would look at these pictures of these women, or these guys that were starting these 30 day programs and what not, and I wanted to look like them and I wanted it now. And I just realized that my goals were extremely unrealistic. But I didn’t know that at the time. Working those 30 day programs never gave me lasting results.
Only further insinuating that I just wasn’t cut out for this. You know, I’m not gonna be one of those girls that gets to look muscular, that gets to look toned, that gets to live a healthy and happy lifestyle. It just wasn’t in the cards for me. And at the moment I felt extremely defeated, that’s when I scrolled across WarriorBabe. I actually came across it through Facebook. And when I came across WarriorBabe, the first thing that stood out to me was the community that it had. The community of women in particular who just are there to support one another. They offer guidance, commitment. And that was something I hadn’t ever seen before. Here’s this journey that we can all kind of walk through together. I can have other women that are struggling with the same issues I’ve been struggling with my whole life and they can help keep me accountable.
So once they were able to keep me accountable, that’s really when I started to fall in love with this program and it got my attention. The next thing that got my attention about WarriorBabe was the mapping that it offers you. The first seven days it requires you to kind of set your own intent for what your plan is with this program, and the goals that you have for yourself. I never set any goals for myself. Nor did any other program even care about my goals until I came across WarriorBabe. That was kind of the moment I knew when okay, this program I think can genuinely work for me. I decided to stick with it. I started in April of this year right after all of the gyms had shut down. There was nothing available to me. And then Nikkiey and her program offered the at-home workouts and all of the macro-counting. And that really did kickstart my entire journey into fitness and into this healthier lifestyle that I’ve been living. Six months into this, I can say that the scale is not your friend. And that couldn’t be further from the truth when people say the only way to lose weight is that the number on the scale goes down.
I have seen more changes in my body over the last six months counting macros, lifting weights, and eating a ton of food. What, I’ve never eaten this much food before in my life. And I figured out a way to use the food as fuel for my body to get the results that I’ve had today. In six months, what I have learned is that I need to be consistent. I need to be patient. But WarriorBabe really did map out all of those tools and those resources for me. I mean they give you everything that you need in order to succeed as long as I don’t stand in my own way. Lastly, since I have been able to work a program with WarriorBabe for six months now, one of the biggest things I have gained in my life is I love myself again.
I’m starting to love myself again. I get excited to wake up in the morning and engage in my daily routine. I get excited to work on myself. You know, I don’t do this because I hate myself and I hate the way I look. I’ve been able to grow fond of my journey and learn to love my own journey and respect the milestones along the way. I set new goals for myself every single day and I crush them.
