Hey y’all. My name’s Kelly. I’m 39 years old. I have three beautiful children. I am married to a United States Marine and I am in children’s ministry. I’ve been a Warrior Babe for about two months now and I’m absolutely loving it. When I started, I would say I’m more on the advanced level with macronutrients. I have been a personal trainer since back in 2011. After three kids I was really overweight, weighed about 220 pounds and I was like, “I need to get my life in order,” so I lost 90 pounds and after that I really wanted to help other people lose weight and achieve their goals too. So after being a trainer for a couple of years, I decided to go to college and get a degree in exercise science. I have a bachelor’s in exercise science. I followed so many plans over the years.

Being a vegetarian for 27 years, it makes it hard to follow some of them, especially the ones like paleo or especially like keto. I can’t eat all the meat and stuff so it’s really hard for me to follow that, but three years ago I was doing bodybuilding and I had a high level trainer who I was working with and I was working out six days a week and I was doing three hours of working out a day, two of those being cardio and near the end of my prep I was only eating about 900 calories a day, and my body was pretty exhausted to say the least. Actually I ended up injuring myself, tore my labrum in my shoulder and I gave up bodybuilding at that point before.

Before Warrior Babe I had just had a total hysterectomy, five months prior to signing up for Warrior Babe. At that time in my life, I was just, when I came across it, I wasn’t eating right at all. I had kind of thrown everything I knew out the window and I had just been enjoying food when you can enjoy food the right way by eating the right things. I I was laying in my bed back May 5th, 2019, this year, and I was on Facebook and I was just scrolling through and I was like, “Who’s this chick? She looks pretty awesome. She’s pretty ripped up.” For me, used to being a bodybuilder, I really thought she had a great physique, and so I wanted to see more about what this was. I clicked on the link and I listened to Nikki talk and the whole time that she was talking, I was just saying “Yes, yes, yes, yes.” I just agree with everything she was saying, because fad diets don’t work. Low carbs, they don’t work. You can’t sustain yourself on that. And it’s impossible to just do cardio, cardio, cardio. We have to weight train. It’s so important to want to build those muscles.

I was laying in bed and I was like, “I’m just going to jump on board. I really want to do this.” I’m so glad that I did because everything she says is so true and I needed this kind of accountability in my life right now. Nothing’s quick fix, and just like Nikki says, it’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon and it takes time and you have to dedicate yourself to it. We got to realize we’re going to make mistakes, we’re going to mess up, but to just keep pushing forward and don’t give up. Since joining this Warrior Babe program, in two months, I’ve lost 16 inches and I’ve lost 1.8% body fat and six pounds.

And that’s great and that’s awesome and I’m super excited about that because everybody wants to lose weight, but the one thing that means so much to me is… Last year I got on high blood pressure medication because my anxiety was just out of control and I’ve been on anxiety and depression medication for 15 years. Kind of weird because I’m really happy person but I’m an anxious person too. I went to the doctor a couple weeks ago and I was like, “Look doc, I don’t think I have high blood pressure anymore.” He’s like, “You don’t.” And I was like, “And my anxiety’s like under control,” and he’s like, “Well I really don’t think you need blood pressure medication anymore.” And I’m like, “Yes, I don’t want to take it anyways.” And then he was like, “Let’s just try taking you off of this anxiety medication that you’ve been on for so long. I feel like we’re poisoning your body.” And I was like, “are you serious?”

And I’m here to tell you that I feel better than I have in years. Warrior Babe has taught me so much and this community is amazing. The support that I feel from the group is just a blessing. It’s so worth it to be a part of Warrior Babe because of the meals, the workouts, the rally calls, the question and answers, the community, and the affordability. So ladies, if you are optimistic about wanting to give this a try, I can tell you that I am living proof that this program works, and not just for the outside, but the inside too.
