Hey, I’m Kenni. I joined Warrior Babe in June of 2021, and the reason I decided to join is because I needed a jumpstart. I have been on my fitness journey for a long time. I’ve always been worried about how I look and making sure that I don’t overeat. And really what I learned is that I am a horrible, or was a horrible, under-eater, and that was messing everything up. I didn’t have the energy, I didn’t have the fuel to get the results out of my body. Not only the way I want it to look, but also to achieve the goals that I have for myself. So when I joined Warrior Babe, though, I knew I was gonna be learning about macros. I knew I was gonna be learning about how to key into exactly what foods I needed to eat when, and I also was excited to learn more about weight training. That is not something that I’ve done a lot of in my experience. I’ve been very intimidated by the gym and intimidated by weights, but I know that as I age, I’m continuing to lose muscle mass. I have scoliosis. And so it’s really important to me that I am maintaining my muscle mass and taking care of my body so that I’m strong and I’m able to continue to do the things that I want to do and enjoy life and not be plagued with pain. So that was what I was really looking forward to, but I got a lot more out of it. The thing that I realized very quickly is that my under-eating or not eating enough protein, it was impacting my body in so many more ways than I realized. I tend to struggle with anxiety and depression. And what I realized is that when I was eating better, I had more energy, it was easier to deal with the things that life throws at me, and I didn’t feel bad about needing a nap in the afternoon and not feeling like cooking dinner and then feeling guilty for not working out and all the things. And so just having the right food and the right fuel gave me the energy to do the things that I wanted to do for myself and for my family and it took away that guilt. And just that shift, just having the right nutrients and that shift in mindset, does wonders, it’s amazing. Now, I’m not done with that yet. I’m still learning. But one of the things that is also super helpful is the community. Even though it is virtual, I really love being able to share the questions and the concerns that I have and being able to get feedback from people and having thousands of ladies be a part of something that is super positive is an amazing thing and not something that we find, especially when it comes to our body and eating. So that has been a really positive thing for me as well. So I am seeing results. The scale’s not really changing, but I see a difference in my body. I feel a difference in how strong I am and I can feel how much energy I have. And also I’ve noticed my hair grows longer. My nails are more healthy. There’s just a lot of other things that I didn’t even realize that I was doing to myself so it’s nice to be able to see another side and that I don’t have to live my life in this deprivation mindset. It’s just not healthy and it’s so hard to be positive when you’re living that way. So again, my journey is not complete. I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’m moving in the right direction and I’m so thankful for this. So if you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, then I definitely recommend you giving it a try, but don’t give it a half-hearted try. You gotta really be committed because that consistency really does pay off. So I’m really appreciative and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.
