Everyone, I was contacted by Kate asking if I would do a testimonial about my journey here with Warrior Babe, especially since I have gone through being on a plant-based diet. And so I was excited that she gave me this opportunity to share. So I’ll start from the beginning. I’m 38 years old. I am a mother of four boys and married. I am a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor and currently working on my nutrition certification. So I came across Warrior Babe probably about two years ago just through Facebook. I had always been into running. That was my fitness, was running. It was a stress reliever, ’cause I stayed at home for about 10 years with my boys, but I noticed the older I got, the more I wanted to just kind of build more muscle. And so, when I came across this, I thought, “Well, I’ll give it a shot and see.” I immediately liked the group.
I liked the environment, all the people that were in it. Everybody was very supportive. Different ages, different stages, but everybody was on the same journey, very positive. So, that really drew me into it. I initially started with the numbers, the macros that were given to me, to build. And I just noticed that it was really hard on my body, the amount of protein that needed to be consumed. And so, I just did a little bit more research in my plant-based diet that I was on, and just kind of tweaked the numbers a little bit and finally came across like something that started working for me. And I mean, I’ve kind of messed with them here and there, but for the last six months I’ve been pretty solid.
I really enjoy Warrior Babe for the fact that I think for everybody, all day long, I’m writing everybody else’s programs out, and I have a family to take care of. So at the end of the day or the first thing in the morning, ’cause most of my mornings start at 4:00 a.m., the last thing I wanna do is think about how I’m gonna exercise. So I could just log onto the app and do whatever exercise was there for the day, and I knew I was taken care of. It was mindless for me, which is what I needed. So I absolutely love the workouts and the programs. One thing I wanna say about that is, just being in the fitness industry, if you are starting out on this, or you’re a pro at this or whatever, if there are days that come that you don’t get everything in, you don’t get all your super sets, or you don’t get your cardio, don’t beat yourself up about it. You did something, and something is always better than nothing. You’ve moved your body for the day, and that is something to be proud of and should be considered an accomplishment. And just move on from there. But anyway, back to what we were talking about. Warrior Babe just seemed very simple to me. I could log on, I could do what I needed to do, and go from there. I really don’t wanna say that it has fixed any problems for me. Problems are always gonna be there.
What I will say is that the overwhelming feeling of what are you gonna do today for your workout, where are you gonna fit your workout in, can you get everything done, that has been made easier knowing that I can just go to the app, do the workout, do what part of the workout I can get done, and be okay with it. So yes, Warrior Babe, I would definitely recommend to anybody who’s willing to try. I feel like it’s for every level, every age, every stage, like I said before. And I am more than happy to share more about my plant-based diet, my success on it. I think a lot of people get stuck on carbs are bad, fat is bad.
I grew up in the late 80s and 90s. so the low fat, no fat was the way to go. And now, all of a sudden, keto is the way to go. And I have so many words for that, but as long as you’re eating healthy, you’re eating the good carbs, the good, healthy fats, you shouldn’t be scared of any of that. It’s all there to fuel your body. So if anybody has any more questions for me about being on a plant-based diet, I would absolutely love to answer.
