Jennifer Iturriaga
My name is Jen Itturiaga. I live in a small town in Nevada. I have four kids, two bonus, a great fiance, and I used to do hair before. For 28 years I had a salon and did hair for 30 years. I don't think you ever get done being hairdresser, but anyways, and now I just have different businesses, but I don't do hair anymore. So anyways, Why I started Warrior Babe: I saw a Instagram video of Nikki. And I was like, oh my God, I love this crazy lady. She's kind, she's honest. She has just true admiration of just helping, you know, it's not like she's just on, on our warrior page or whatever she's on like YouTube and, and she's just helping anybody that just wants to be better. And I, and I love that. So anyways, I did it really quickly, actually. I didn't follow her, I didn't anything. I just saw her, and knew I wanted to be a part of whatever she was. And so I did that and then just jumped right in. I didn't know what macros were at all. I actually, I've always been active. I've always been, you know, sports, horses, riding, hunting, just always very active. And I love that my kids, my "why", I would say definitely is I like to be an example to my kids, and that's really important to me. So not only do I like to feel good or look good or all of those good things along with it, but just to be an example to my kids, I know just makes us have better attitudes and better moms, probably. So anyways, but... So when I got into it, yeah, Being clueless about macros, I was like...I don't know. I've heard about macros before, and I've asked about macros before and people were like, "oh my God, they're so hard", Or "I'm not doing that if it takes that much effort", and blah, blah, blah. And I'm like being fat is hard. That's, what's hard on me. So I guess I better try this macro thing. And, so I got into it and then, MyFitnessPal feels like a game to me. So that's always kind of fun too. I love the HIIT, and that's become a habit. So I really like that. Things that keep me consistent are: for sure hearing Nikki's voice in my head. I can hear her say, "Don't be an asshole!" And I'm like, fine! I won't be an asshole and overeat or on the cheat meals, or, you know, tell 'em you have goals. And I may not say I have goals, but hearing that in my head, I'm like, I do have goals. I need to be better. I want to be better. I had gained some weight for about a year or so. I guess I didn't care. And I had gained some weight. I went in and had some blood work and found out that I was already in the start of menopause. And so I was putting on weight where, before I ever didn't ever put on weight there. And so anyways, I'm like, I don't want a freaking diet pill. I just want to know what's wrong with me. So finding that out, that was almost a challenge to me as well. Like, no I'm not gonna allow those extra pounds to come on because of menopause, like who cares? Like I'm better and bigger than that. So anyways, so along with learning Nikki's way, because I've been in all sorts of things before I, you know, I've done of course, you know, who hasn't done Keto, fasting, I did Chris and Heidi's transformation. That was wonderful because I did the workouts. I love that, but there wasn't a eating plan with it, or Weight Watchers, but there wasn't a workout plan with that. So this is just the whole package. And I think that that's probably what will make me... what makes me love this program so much, because it's not just focused on one or the other. It is everything, and there's no excuses. You don't have any excuses. You can go on any, you can go on our awesome Facebook page and get motivated just by looking at people's pictures or, or their questions to, you know, either make a light bulb moment come on or whatever it may be that you might need help. And you can go to YouTube page. You can do...there's so many avenues that, that she sets us up for success. And I'm just thrilled to be a part of this. And, Thank you, everybody for putting stuff on our Facebook page, because that's motivation, daily, for me. I find that when I am on Facebook, it's to look at our page, and then I'm off and running again. And so anyways, I still have a lot of learn, lots to learn, like I'd said, and... and I'm okay with that. I love it. I love learning this. I can't wait to see how, you know, I love this for the rest of my life. So I was 163 pounds at 5'3" and not very cute. And now I'm 154. Not that the whole weight thing matters, but I, I sure do love seeing the scale come down. I like seeing progress, muscles, bumps where I haven't had them in a long time. So anyways, I just love this whole program. And so many things that keep me motivated just personally, is just being thankful for a healthy body to be able to do this, you know? So grateful for that. I'd done this... it's for widows. It's One Fit Widows, and my husband had passed away eight years ago. So anyways, I'm part of this group of empowering women. It's so wonderful. And this reminds me of that as well. It's like, there's nothing better than stronger women mentally, physically, and... I just, I'm thankful for that. But things that keep me motivated are this, you know, I have this gym to work out in. Behind me, I have my kids, I had them put stuff on the wall. Their little motivating quotes up there. And so I can look at those and, and smile and know that, that stuff's important. So anyways, be consistent. And let's all keep doing this together. Thank you guys for being part of my journey. I appreciate y'all. Bye.
