Jodi Smith

Hi. My name is Jody Smith.

I live in beautiful Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

I am fifty two years old.

I will be celebrating, my twenty seventh wedding anniversary this year, and I have two grown sons, ages twenty three and nineteen, who I'm immensely proud of. I'm a businesswoman.

I have owned a mental health agency for over twenty years. And as you can imagine, in times like these, that's a lot of fun.

But I do love it. I do. I've been a a warrior babe since, late summer of twenty nineteen, and I'll tell you about that in a minute.

I have always been athletic.

I started at age six doing gymnastics, and at age ten, I started playing tennis competitively.

At age thirteen, I began lifting weights and discovered that I just absolutely loved loved lifting weights. And I remember, seeing pictures of women in bodybuilding competitions and thinking, I wanna do that one day.

So, anyway, more about that in a minute as well.

So I was always very athletic. Always. Always very muscular.

I've lifted weights, off and on, since the age of thirteen.

And, I was a runner. I did a lot of distance running. I would be running upwards of thirty miles a week. I did, several half marathons and and team events, had a lot of fun with that.

And I started it so that I could lose weight because I, I just I always felt heavy.

And so while I would I would run and I would lift weights, I would, do funny things with my diet.

So I did and probably in this order. I did low carb. I did vegetarian.

I did low fat. I did paleo. I did keto. I tried it all. And none of it worked, and I just couldn't understand why that was. You know? I just wasn't losing weight.

And, actually, I was losing muscle, which I I have thought, well, that's just really odd because I'm lifting weights, and I'm and I'm running and all of that, and I'm having a healthy diet. I just don't get it. So, anyway, I joined, Warrior Babe, the revolution, at the end of the summer in twenty nineteen.

And in November, I joined the blueprint, because I just wanted to learn more. And then in May of twenty twenty, I joined VIP because I just wanted to up my game a bit.

And what I've learned through this process is the importance of macronutrients. I never understood macros. I never did. All I knew was that carbs were bad.

They were horrible. Don't eat them. Avoid them at all cost. And I thought a lot of protein, lots of protein, low fat, You know, that was the way to go.

So, anyway, through the time with Warrior Babe, I've learned how to fuel my body, and it has been so incredibly amazing. It's provided me with the structure that I can follow, that I actually crave, and has brought me to a place where several months ago, I decided that I wanted to fulfill my childhood dream of competing, and, and I made the decision to compete. I am now ten weeks out from my first and maybe only, we'll see, competition.

But if it weren't for Warrior Babe and the support of Nikki and Madeline and now Jill, my coaches, there's no way I I would be where I am now. I have confidence.

I am fifty two. I don't feel fifty two. I feel healthy. I feel vibrant.

The structure that Warrior Babe has provided me and the education that I have been given has changed my life in so many ways. I mean, I don't think that I would have been able to emotionally, manage through this whole COVID pandemic, doing what I do for a profession, if I didn't have, that structure and that consistency. I do believe it has kept me sane.

So I thank Warrior Babe. It has absolutely changed my life for the better, and I look forward to seeing where I can go from here. I appreciate the community so much, all the women. It's amazing to have this whole new group of friends that I've never even really met, and it's it's a beautiful thing. So thank you, warrior babe. I love you. I do.
