Sue Barnum

Hi. My name is Sue Barnum, and I've been a Warrior Babe for about five months.
I'm eighty one years old, five foot three inches tall, and I've never weighed more than a hundred and fifty pounds in my life, and that was when I was nine months pregnant.
But mama told me I was fat, and she had my metabolism tested for the first time when I was in sixth grade.
I've been on every diet you can imagine, ruining what metabolism I did have.
Long story short, I have felt fat my whole life.
Despite the fact that I was successful with Weight Watchers after the birth of my son, the second child.
I managed to keep my my weight at a hundred and thirty pounds for years.
But as I aged, it slowly inched up to a hundred and forty five.
When I came to Warrior Babes, I had just been diagnosed with something called mast cell activation disorder, syndrome. Allergic to thirty odd foods like, almonds and carrots, you know, normal stuff.
My doctor suggested a four day rotation diet, so I had to write down everything. Anyway, Warrior babies writing things down for Warrior babies didn't didn't bother me because I had to anyway.
Anyway, she suggested this four day rotation diet. So every food that was eaten, it couldn't be eaten for four days afterwards.
So I just had to have this on this day and this on this day and, you know, etcetera.
Turns out that this mast cell thing goes along with the other the genetic Ehlers Danlos connective tissue disorder that I have, which means my skin is saggy and really soft, and my stomachs and tinnitus are really soft and stretchy.
So the the diet is helping, but I still have this barking cough that I've had for fourteen years. I just have less of it.
So I had a few challenges.
But enough about problems. I wanna tell you about the biggest win of my whole life.
Despite having lost only three pounds in my in my five months on at Warrior Babes, my whole body is changing.
I've dropped a whole size, upper and lower body, and I no longer feel fat.
This is absolutely astonishing.
And the ever present dreaded scales have been put, on the back burner. They are now just a tool that I use occasionally.
I still struggle with getting enough protein for my macro goals, given my food sensitivities, but my weight no longer drives my life or my feelings about my life.
I'm a psychotherapist and have done a ton of inner work over my lifetime.
And I'm I'm happy to to say that I'm a happy, fairly well adjusted woman.
Warrior Babes has been a big win for me.
I can't wait to buy my Warrior Babes T shirt and wear it to the gym.
Keep at it, girls. It's working.
